Can you tell that the designs above go oh so very well with our blog? That’s because our logo, fonts and header are based on custom concepts that Erin Flett designed for Something Blue! We discovered her through Maine Magazine, and fell in love with her quirky, nature inspired, layered, bold designs. They express everything we see and love in Maine. Erin specializes in graphic/surface and textile design, but also does unique brand development and design. She has won numerous awards and has been featured in many a cool blog and magazine (apartment therapy & design sponge, two of our blogrollers, to name just a few!). These laminated cotton bags above are brand spanking new line of custom designs for Au shop in Portland Maine. Love the beautiful seaside photos by Winky Photography too! The exclusive line is called Mrs Robinson…wouldn’t they make great bags for your bridal party or next hostess gift! In fact, I could envision an entire party or wedding based on her designs. On the wedding front…stay tuned because we might have seen some of Erin’s new exotic wedding stationary concepts…shhhhhh….you didn’t hear it here. In the meantime, check out some of her latest patterns below. On the left is a little plug not only for Erin, but for a fun show coming up next weekend in Lincolnville; and on the right are some design ideas for an upcoming line of doggie collars–I’ll take one of each for my “nephew” Berkeley–he would be THE most stylish pooch wearing any one of them!See a sample of her 2011 water color paper calendar below too–I have one sitting on my desk and every month it inspires me.

Vera Neuman because she had a solid surface design career with a wide body or work that was amazing. She was the first designer of her time to go bold with the use of color and design. Her hand was both modern and hand drawn and had a sophisticated edge.
