Dreamy Spring day at Ocean Gateway…the wedding of Nicole & Grant

Ocean Gateway wedding Portland MaineOk, I’m gonna just come out and say it:  I took way too many pictures of Nicole’s dress.  But the perfect storm presented itself…a day like this,  a bride like this, in a dress like this (Landry by Ashleigh Claire)…I mean, come on…who wouldn’t?  By the way, Grant looking pretty dapper in his own Hugo Boss suit too.  So indulge us…and drink up all the wonderfulness of their dreamy Maine seaside wedding.Nicole & Grant live in Seattle but somehow managed to bring together all their friends and family from around the world for a picture perfect Spring wedding day.  The pretty blues and whites with a touch of lavender from Minott’s Flowers in Portland complemented the light, airy feel to their entire day. A May Day wedding in Maine…so pretty!  The couple had the most beautiful weather (shhhh…brides are catching on that May weddings in New England are gorgeous).I know..more dress images…I can’t stop!  I need help!  But seriously…why not just do it up on your wedding day?  It’s all about reflecting your personal style and having fun.  You and your photographer will be thankful (not to mention your dress designer…).Ocean Gateway is a contemporary space overlooking Casco Bay–on the east end of Portland’s waterfront district.   It’s a working terminal, but can be rented certain times of the month/year for your wedding or event.  It has great light and stunning views of the bay and the open ocean. And now a word from Nicole & Grant on planning their day:

“I think that one of the most important aspects of your wedding day is to make sure that the day represents you as a couple. Selecting our vendors, people we could trust to make our vision a reality, was such an important task in getting everything just right.  You can spend all the money you want but my advice would be to identify what matters most to you and to put your money into those things.  To us, a unique location with great food and a live band would make our day.  Once we had those things in order the rest just fell into place.  Our wedding was not the most elaborate but we still hear from guests that it was one of their all time favorite weddings to attend and that means so much to us!”
